Progress!

I went to the Dr. today and here are the stats....I'm 3 cm. dialated, 50% effaced and the Dr. could feel the head (crazy!) He stripped my membranes (Oww!) and said if I didn't go into labor on my own this weekend he'd see me Thur. morning (23rd) 7:30am for an induction! I am SO excited! I'm a lot farther along than I ever was with Estin... and knowing I'll have this baby within the week is really exciting (and scary) to both Justin and I. We're going to have 2 kids by next weekend! WOW!!! We'll keep y'all posted!!!!

4th of July...

I can't believe the 4th of July has come and gone already! What a WONDERFUL day to spend with family! I am SO grateful for the freedoms we enjoy! This year was spent leisurely... just the way I like it. We started the day off at the Rexburg parade... complete with tractors, riding lawnmowers, cheerleaders and dance groups (I'm not even kidding!) It was especially nice to spend part of the day with mom, August and Grandma Nelson. After the parade, we made our traditional route to Porter park to ride the carousel and walk around the different booths and vendors they had there. Once we stopped for a BRC hotdog (another tradition), we ventured home to a movie and a good nap. The evening was spent BBQ-ing at mom's and watching all 10 minutes of the fireworks. (That's because the fireworks only lasted 10 min. ) We're going to miss Rexburg and it's little quirks!

Pinewood Derby...

I'm not a frequent contributor on our blog, this should do it for another year or so... I used to own a 1972 Plymouth Fury III it was given to me by my Grandmother Cora. I loved this car. Kelli and her friends, when we were dating, wanted to give it a name so Cora was the natural choice. When the pinewood derby came up, I had to make Cora! Kelli went the with something a little more non-traditional.
After many hours of carving, polishing, painting and taking a neighbor to the urgent care for 10 stitches (after using one of my chisels) the cars were done. The day of the race came, we had a lot of fun with the different ward members that participated....
Drumroll please! I got 3rd place in our regular mens division and Kelli blew everyone away and got 1st place in the sisters category! Way to go Kelli!!
The videos tell the story! I barely lost to Kelli in our head to head exibition race. I don't feel too bad, I did a good portion of the carving and wheel polishing on her car (she sculpted the monkeys), but she still won.

Air Show

One of the things we look forward to most in the month of June is the air show. It's pretty amazing especially to the men of my household. I've never seen Estin sit still for so long... and Justin... well, he was like a kid in a candy store. Here is just a glimpse of all the pics/videos he took. Hope you enjoy!

Update City!

I'm not very good at posting one thing at a time... I usually wait awhile and post several happenings at once. So I guess what I'm saying is, keep scrolling down... there's always plenty to see!

The Innocence of Childhood...

I think one day when I look back, this is one thing I'll remember most... I'll always treasure these quiet moments just watching my children play.

A Random Sampling....

Who could resist this kid!!!

35 Weeks...

Estin wanted in on the action too! His poor mosquito bitten face!

Nap Time?

So after putting Estin down for his nap I went to bed myself. Justin came home about 30 minutes later and found this...

Free Fishing Day...

June 13th was FREE FISHING DAY!!! Justin and I left Estin with a sitter and headed up to Henry's Fork Lake. We didn't catch anything... but it was BEAUTIFUL and worth the effort to be together. There's nothing like sharing the day with your best friend! I've never seen a badger so close before. They're a little scary out in the wild!

Mesa Falls...

Justin gets off of work somedays by 2pm and since it's been raining for 4 WEEKS straight and there was a break in the clouds... we decided to pack up and head out to senic Mesa Falls. It was a fun afternoon! The mosquitos (THOUSANDS of them) were especially happy to see us!

The Many Faces of Estin....

I guess with a new baby on the way (next month-CRAZY!) I'm feeling a little reminiscent of my little boy who's not a baby anymore. Wow! How FAST time flies!!! I can't believe how much he's grown over the course of 2 years. See for yourself...

Baby Shower...

A friend of mine threw me probably the coolest baby shower ever! Since I'm having boy #2 and already have most of the items we need, we had a celebration party for ME! It was a "Pamper Shower" complete with manicures, paraffin wax, and eyebrow waxing! It was a blast! Best of all, everyone there contributed to a gift certificate at a local spa! I am SO excited! I've always wanted, but have never been, to a REAL spa with fluffy robes and all! I think I'll go after the baby comes when I'm in the middle of moving to get a break. Now I just have to decide what I want done!!!

Craters of the Moon...

For Memorial day, Justin, Estin and I went to Craters of the Moon National Monument with Mike, Liisa and Christine. I wasn't sure how excited I was to trek around miles of hot lava rock 7 months pregnant, but I'm glad I went. The highlight of the trip was exploring the underground caves. And yes... I climbed, hiked, and sweat with the best of them... baby in tow and all. Estin had a blast being outside and running up hills. What a great way to enjoy the new summer weather. (We were lucky it was a bit windy and only 60ish degrees... I can't imagine doing that again in 90 degree weather!)

Direction...

So we finally have a direction! Justin took his entrance exams into nursing school and passed with flying colors! We will be leaving our first home of Rexburg, Idaho for Draper, Utah. School starts Sept. 28th which will give us 6-8 weeks after the baby is born before we'll need to relocate. In 18 months, or less, Justin will have his RN degree and begin working out in the field. PA school is still an option, down the road, but for now we feel this is the direction Heavenly Father is sending us. It's nice to have a plan!

Funny Boy....

I LOVE being a mom!!! There are days when NOTHING goes right but I just have to shake my head, laugh, and thank my Heavenly Father for giving me the opportunity to raise such a GREAT little boy. Here are a few reasons why I LOVE my little man... 1) Mother's Day was not extremely relaxing for me... at least during church. Our ward has the crazy schedule of starting at 1pm with Sacrament meeting last... so needless to say, it usually ends up with Justin or I out in the hall. Estin had not napped at all and was having a hard time when I took my shift by taking him into the mother's lounge to make him sit on my lap. I KNEW he was tired but he wasn't cooperating... in fact, he screamed SO hard he threw up all over me just as the overhead speaker was comparing a mother's work to that of the angels. I thought I might calm him down by singing his favorite bedtime song, "I Am a Child of God." As I started to sing, he shouted..."No Child of God!" "No lead you, guide you, walk beside you!" How can you not smile after something like that. He eventually did fall asleep... 5 minutes before church was over. 2) While walking around the grocery store the other night, Estin was chomping away on a sucker when he pulled it out of his mouth and said, "I need this!" 3) Estin's been struggling with a cold and runny nose for the umpteenth time this year. The other day I caught him wiping his nose on his arm, then rubbing it in and saying, "Lotion!" Wow... I have a little boy!!!

The Before and After...

I've been needing a change to get me ready for this new baby... and since there's not much I can do about my body at this point... I changed the one thing I could... my hair! It's a great summer cut!!! The Before... The After...

We Did It!!!

3.5 years of marriage, 3 Associates degrees, 1 Bachelors degree, 2 Babies, Car Payments, Dental Work and Doctor bills equal SEVERAL thousands of dollars worth of debt.... but as of today, after a lot of hard work and sacrifice, Justin and I are 100% DEBT FREE!!!! What a GREAT feeling it is to not owe a dime (other than basic living expenses) to ANYONE!!! It's quite an accomplishment for us.

Nesting....

So the time has come for my "Nesting" insticnts to kick in. Poor Justin... I've about run him ragged! I figured while I'm feeling good I might as well get as much done as I can before I have 2 little ones. This past week we've been cleaning out closets and pantries. Our big project was our GIANT pantry in which we store WAY TOO MUCH stuff!!! You'd be proud.... so far we've boxed up over 13 boxes of stuff and counting. We're hoping to have a yard sale next weekend if the weather's warm enough!
